Medical Hotline
The project of Medical Hotline is based on mutual cooperation of private entities in offering assistance to individual patients and their families. This assistance involves organisation or medical care during holiday and business trips to other parts of Poland. For example, if a patient from the EuroMediCare Hospital in Wrocław requires medical care during his or her stay in Sopot, such person will find it easiest to search for help at the nearest hospital belonging to the Association; in this particular case it would be Clinica Medica in Gdynia. Information about the possible forms of help can be obtained by phone. If the required service is not among the services offered by this hospital, then this institution will find an appropriate specialist in the nearby area. The main aim of the project is to ensure easier access of patients to specialists by arranging their direct contact on the basis of appropriate recommendations. The patients must not be at a loss in their new surroundings; rather, they must always be able to consult a competent person who will advise them on the best course of action. Each centre taking part in the project has its own database of medical services available in "their area", sorted into hospitals and specialists that can be recommended to the patients contacting the centre. Apart form the type of medical service, the main criteria taken into consideration during the compilation of the database include high standard of services, good sanitary conditions, and efficient service. The patient can also personally choose a medical establishment on the basis of information contained in a free brochure. The brochure is sent by post to the home address of the patient together with an identification card giving the patient access to services offered by all the hospitals included in the brochure. In addition to the map of the centres and the contact data the brochure contains information on the scope of the provided services. This service will be available from August until the end of the year. The project of "Medical Hotline" is an introduction to the future cooperation of private hospitals constituting The Polish Private Hospitals Association. It is intended to propagate the high quality of service and to develop a uniform standard for servicing patients.
